The Future of Sixth-Grade Education
The Everett Public Schools (EPS) is looking for feedback about the possible departmentalization of the 6th grade for the 2025-26 school year. The plan promotes a true middle school model, with four separate content area teachers for all EPS sixth graders. Educators who have an elementary license will have the opportunity to participate in free MTEL prep courses and MTEL test vouchers should they so choose to earn their licenses in a middle school content specific license.

K-5 iReady Classroom Mathematics
The EPS is seeking teacher input regarding the K-5 iReady Mathematics Curriculum. If you are a K-5 educator, please take a few minutes to let us know your thoughts about the curriculum and how it relates to our instructional mission and vision.

Professional Development Committee

The EPS is calling on teachers and staff to serve on its volunteer Professional Development Committee. This group’s objective is to develop the course offerings for the SY24-25 catalog based on teacher feedback, district-wide initiatives, student performance indicators, and innovative training opportunities that align with the district’s instructional mission and vision and/or culturally and linguistically responsive practices. Volunteers will receive 15 hours of PDPs and have a voice in the choices offered in the PD Catalog.  Meetings will be held via Zoom from 300 to 4:00 p.m. on three Mondays in April of 2024 — April 8, 22, and April 29.

To join the Professional Development Committee, please email Louise DeSisto and Rupi Kaur by Friday, April 5th.
