Annual Angel Campaign
The Everett High School (EHS) Guidance Department is once again planning a Christmas Angel Campaign, which is a great way to bring joy and comfort to EHS students who might be struggling financially or emotionally during this holiday season.

Between now and December 15, 2024, guidance counselors are compiling student wish lists. Shortly thereafter, donors — or “Angels” — will be given an anonymous wish list to fulfill. If you are interested in being an Angel this year, please email 9th Grade Guidance Counselor Fernanda Andrade as soon as possible.

Last year, the Christmas Angel Campaign helped 105 EHS students; let’s try to top that number in 2024!

A Carnival Atmosphere!
Using the skills they have learned in Ms. Tumblin’s Introduction to Engineering Design (IED), Everett High School freshmen designed playable and winnable carnival games as part of a special event held on November 18, 2024.

As part of the project, students had to make a model of the launch device, a model of the target game board, and develop a “booth setup documentation.”Once their games were fully designed, the students provided instructions on how to play the game and clearly identified how players win prizes.  The carnival project is part of Project Lead The Way’s activity-project-problem-based (APB) engineering curriculum. During their coursework, students in Ms. Tumblin’s class will progress from structured activities to solving open-ended projects that require them to plan, document, communicate, and employ the engineering design process to solve open-ended, real-world problems.

Thanks to Everett High STEM Coordinator Dr. Christopher Backlund for sharing the information and photos with us through our new Staff Newsletter submission form.
